To celebrate I'm gonna make a request post, and I thought maybe someone on the f-list would be interested: if you want a couple of interest icons, a wallpaper or a header/banner, feel free to ask here :)

Any fandom, stock, whatever. I just want an excuse to waste a few more hours make some shiny graphics.

Uhm. Not my usual kind of entry, but I need to rant if I want to get some sleep tonight.

I may have met someone.
I went out with Arm & Lu, took a taxy back home and now I have the driver's number. He was good looking. He sounded nice.

Trouble is:

a) I'm ridiculously shy. The idea of going out with someone who's a complete stranger, even for a simple coffee, completely weirds me out. He was nice, but it didn't sound as if we have much in common. On the other hand it was a ten minutes chat, in a taxi. The only way to get to know him is to give ot a try. *slams head against nearest wall*

b) I'm pants at flirting. I didn't realise he was coming on to me until he gave me his number and said "give me a call if you want to go out for a beer or something".

c) I have the self-esteem of an unemployed house-elf, so I'll sooner think someone wants to rob/kidnapp me than go out with me. This sure was a nice ego boost, but I keep asking myself "where's the catch?".

d) I have trust issues the size of JKR's bank account. This means that I tend get defensive and give not exactlly thrutful answers to strangers who ask me too many questions while I'm locked in their car at 11.30 pm in front of the central station (needless to say, one of the most unsafe areas in town). Don't look at me like that, I didn't say I was a secret agent or an alien. I just aged myself a bit, said that I worked -it sounds a bit less "look at me, I'm easy pray!" than 23, university student.
Paranoia is just another world for longevity, right?
Remenber points B & C, I couldn't think of a reason for this guy to be asking so many personal questions. He could have been a crazy stalker! He still could be one! *has a mild panick attack* How the fuck I'm going to explain that? "Sorry, I thought you were a serial killer" doesn't sound good.

e) I've always worked in a strange way: when I meet someone -friends, theachers, colleagues- either I immediately click with them or I know I'm going to be awkward and uneasy around them for at least a couple of years. It's instict, and I know first impressions are often wrong but it has always sarved me well. I've never been let down by a friend, or backstabbed by someone who was on my good guys list.
There was no click.

f) I'm a 23 years old, eternally single (and now you know why), neurotic girl. I'll probably kick myself for the next two years if I don't give it a try. Hell, I can see myself - a seventy years old lady with fifty cats who spends her days watching bad soap operas and asking herself "what if..."!

Yes, this is what goes on in my mind. My secret is out, I'm certifiably insane.
Now I'll go hug my pillow and sleep for 10 hours staigh.

Zomg, I actually kept one of mine (usually useless) resolutions!

You see, after The Big Move to IJ I decided to actually do something other than read and lurk in the HP fandom, but since I can't draw or write fanfic the choices seemed pretty limited. Then on daily_snitch I stumbled on a post searching for editors for an IJ based HP newsletter...and here I am!

As of today I'm officially one of the regular editors of potter_prophet :))

I'll post every wednesday, and even get to make an "editor's choice" *squees*. Go check it out, you'll find links to fics, art and more or less everything HP related that happens on IJ.

Remember my last post? Well, my craving for a second tattoo hasn't gone away...after I saw painless_j's wonderful Snape tat I'm definitely set on the idea.
I want something HP related and small, since it will probaly go on my left ankle (to balance the one with the little CLAMP blackbird) or, if I'm feeling extremely brave, on my inner wrist.
I was thinking maybe a snitch? Or a very brief quote?
Any suggestions?

It's been an interesting week :)

On Saturday I was enrolled to be Anna's moral support while she was getting her first tattoo. It's always difficult to explain such an experience to someone who's never gone through it: the pain that's not really pain at all, more like a faint burning shoved to the back of your head by the high of seeing the ink create something on your skin, knowing that it will stay with you until the day you die.
I've never believed in getting a tattoo just on a whim, because it was beautiful or "in" -these kind of motives rarely survive the test of time and there are few things sadder than a covered (or removed) tat. But if it means something to you getting inked really can be a powerful experience, and I'm honoured that she wanted to share it with me.

So now she has a small butterfly resting on a daisy between her shoulderblades -symbolizing rebirth- and I want to get another tattoo ^^
I've been thinking about it for a couple of years but I've yet to find something that "clicks", if you get my meaning. I'd like to chose something fandom-related, because fandom has been a hugs part of the last six years of my life, but I'm still looking for the perfect fit.

On Sunday I baked maple and pinenuts muffin for my mother, loosely based on this recipe.
Served hot with plain Vanilla ice-cream they turned out to be on of the best cures for crancky mothers I've ever tried :D

On monday I splurged on this wonderful cape from Max&Co: soft fluffy and warm -the closest thing to a wearable cuddle.

To top it off yesterday I went with Kia, Lu and Arm to a conference at the "Reader's Club" which gave an interesting (if depressing) angle on the role of journalism in Italy todays. Preceded by finger food washed down with bellinis and followed by a long chat at the nearest pub.

In short I'm feeling happy, fuzzy and dangerously close to purring. I'll better put this feeling aside for the dark times ahead *cough*university starting in a week*cough*. I'm missing summer already.

Before my internet went dead I promised bridgetmkennitt some PotC recs and pointers, so here we go!
My fav pairing is Sparrington, but here are some interesting links that should be more to your taste :)

A great starting point is fabu's Newbies Guide with general informations about the movies and fandom as well as links to lj-communities and archives. She also has a Potc starter's set of recs that covers Gen, Het and slash. She's even done another set of recs for post Dead Man's Chest fics, less exstensive but sill good.

Or you could go to ship_manifesto and read the PotC essays, complete with recs and useful links to communities and archives.

And of course there is pirate_hunters on LJ: it's a fic search comm, but if you follow the tags you'll find many general recs requests for almost every imaginable pairing.
